In a LinkedIn post on 3 October 2025, Adventus.io co-founder and CEO, Victor Rajeevan, announced the sale of the education agent aggregator to Dubai based education agency Global Edmissions. Rajeevan will step away from the business, bringing to an end a 12 year journey and “extraordinary adventure”. The terms of the sale were not disclosed, but Rajeevan described the deal as “a proud and successful exit after a smooth and rewarding transition”.
Adventus.io was founded in 2018 by Ryan and Lincoln Trainor, Victor Rajeevan and Richard Uren as an online international student recruitment marketplace connecting education agents and tertiary institutions. Since that time it has become one of the best known agent aggregator brands in the market. Uren and Lincoln Trainor stepped away from the business in early 2023, and Ryan Trainor followed in early 2024, leaving Rajeevan as the last of the co-founders.
The company was fuelled by venture capital. In May 2021, Adventus.io announced that it had secured a A$22.7 million in Series A venture capital funding to accelerate product development and international expansion. That was followed in May 2023 by a further A$22 million Series B funding from existing shareholders. At the time Rajeevan said:
This latest round of funding is a strong vote of confidence from our investors and a testament to Adventus’ growth trajectory and potential.
In his farewell post, Rajeevan reflected on the past and the present:
When I left the university international office in 2012 to start Adventus, the vision was clear: bring greater quality, transparency, and ethics to international student recruitment. Today, Adventus is trusted by 1,400+ universities & institutions and 4,000+ recruitment partners worldwide, opening life changing opportunities for students.
Sub-agent network
Rajeevan’s reference to the company being “trusted by…4,000+ recruitment partners worldwide” is noteworthy. In May 2025 we reported that, according to the information on its website, Adventus slashed its sub-agent network from 8,000 to 1,800 between January and May. The lower number still appears on the company’s website.
Who’s the buyer?
Global Edmissions is a Dubai based education agency. The About Us section of their website states that the business is comprised of a “young team of professionals” on a mission to:
Provide millions of students with the most simplified international admissions process as well as thousands of universities and colleges with socio-economic diversity, on-campus.
The Global Edmissions home page states that the agency has “more than 1000+ partner institutes”, and includes the names and logos of 30 educational institutions in the US, Canada and UK. A search of the ICEF and AIRC directories indicates that Global Edmissions does not currently hold certification with either organisation.
