The British Council is offering a free online course through Future Learn – Study UK: a Guide for Education Agents and Counsellors

Future Learn is a MOOC (massively open online course) provider owned by The Open University. They partner with over 130 educational institutions around the world to provide online courses, including many top UK and international universities.

The course is aimed at education agents (or aspiring education agents) who advise international students looking to go to the UK to study.

It covers “all aspects of UK education”, with a particular focus on:

  • the UK education and training system
  • the attractions for students in the UK
  • quality assurance systems and how they operate
  • student lifestyle issues
  • welfare and support for international students
  • application processes and entry requirements

 

The course runs for 4 weeks and requires a time commitment of about 3 hours per week.

The trainer is Helen Obaje, the professional development manager at the British Council.
