Want to study in Canada?

The Canadian Government recently launched a Student Direct Stream to speed up processing times for students from China, India, Vietnam and the Philippines.

  • You must have a score of at least IELTS 6 for English
  • You must submit proof of tuition payment for your first year of study in a designated learning institution in Canada, purchase of a Guaranteed Investment Certificate – a deposit in a bank account in Canada which guarantees a rate of return over a fixed period of time.
  • You must also have a medical examination.

If you can’t meet these requirements you can still apply through the regular study permit application to study in Canada.

The CEO of Universities Canada, Paul Davidson, welcomed the new approach:

“The Study Direct Stream will make it easier and faster for even more of the world’s best and brightest minds to come to Canada and enrich our campuses.”

The Canadian Government is considering expanding the program to Africa in 2019, with Kenya and Senegal the most likely countries to be added.
