AgentBee talked with Dan Wortley, CEO of our new partner institution, Laneway Education
Describe Laneway Education in a couple of sentences.
At Laneway, we empower students to think like entrepreneurs and innovators. Our methodology combines Project-Based Learning, Design Thinking and Networking. This has created one of a kind courses that focus on real world outcomes, business innovation and industry engagement.
Our classes and workshops are led by entrepreneurs, business coaches, experienced technical experts and start-up founders; who all share their wealth of knowledge and experience. Our students have the option of focussing on their own business dream, or working on one of our real-world business projects throughout their studies. In both cases, they will learn and use cutting-edge techniques to harness their creativity and find innovative solutions to business problems.
Why should international students consider studying at Laneway?
At Laneway, our students are our VIP’s. We are 100% focussed on student experience. The entire team takes the time to get to know every single one of our students. We have an engaged community of learners that love meeting new students and many lifelong friendships are formed between students. We have an active Student Representative Council that meets formally with school management to present ideas to make the Laneway experience even better.
For us it is not only about the learning experience. Our students have access to over 20 events and workshops every week and we have regular themed celebrations, such as our end of term HATCH event and end of year Christmas Party.
What role do agents play in your international recruitment strategy?
We continue to work very closely with all of our agent partners. We want to know what we can do to make their jobs easier and are always open to their feedback to improve our own systems. We co-run events and workshops for prospective students and also host events for our partners to support their student recruitment activities.
The great news for our partners, and why they love working with Laneway, is that we deliver on our promises 100% of the time.
What do you look for in new education agent partners?
We look for a number of traits from our partners. Key is professionalism with a real focus on customer service. Secondly is the willingness to develop a true partnership. We do not look to enter transactional relationships. We want to share what we know and learn with our partners and expect the same in return. This results in a deeper understanding of each other and increases the opportunities to collaborate on new and innovative ideas to increase student recruitment and satisfaction.
How do you work with education agents?
We have an experienced team that has worked with hundreds of education agents, from a range of providers, over the past 15 years. Our systems are tried and tested and our communication with our partners is exceptional. We deliver training for all agents and counsellors that sticks and run campus tours for staff and students at anytime. Our team acts as an extension to our agency teams to support the student recruitment process. We also use the AgentBee agent management platform to engage with agents day-to-day, receive and track applications, and monitor agent performance.
Want to work with us?
Laneway Education is keen to work with education agents who share our commitment to professionalism, integrity and transparency in international student recruitment.
